Agilent Technologies, Project VivaAgilent Project Viva consisted of upgrades to the existing buildings and site including tenant improvements in three buildings totaling approximately 165,000 square feet of office space. The tenant improvements are open office upgrades consisting of new acoustical ceilings, lighting, HVAC upgrades, and carpet. Neighborhood centers and village centers, containing a coffee bar area and seating where workers can congregate, were added. Additional conference rooms were constructed and upgraded throughout each floor with a new AV system. A conference/training center was also added. A completely new fire alarm system was installed including new head end, backbone, cabling, and devices. Every building was seismically upgraded as a part of Agilent’s Voluntary Seismic Upgrade program. The upgrade consisted of the installation of steel floor plates that fortify the floor diaphragm and the strengthening the overhead truss system connections by adding of steel plates and welding connections. The onsite cafeteria was upgraded while it remained operational. New food service equipment was installed including a new dish wash and grill. The main dining area was completely remodeled. The tenant improvements and structural upgrades were performed in partially or fully occupied buildings with minimal business interruption. This was an ongoing challenge throughout the project and the project team was successful in achieving this goal. The name of the project was voted and chosen by the workers because it represented “Viva” or “live. Agilent’s clients provided extremely positive feedback on the addition of the new entrance, lobby, and training centers. The upgrades to the living spaces or open office additions were met with enthusiasm by the Agilent workers. Project Details
